Starring Walter Matthau, in one of his most hilarious roles, A New Leaf is a classic comedy of backfired plots and plans. Director May also stars, giving a great turn as socially inept heiress/botanist Henrietta Lowell. While the multitalented comedienne, best known as half of the duo of Nichols and May, may have distanced herself from the final edit, the film ultimately stands up as a bright spot in her varied, tumultuous career.
