They may be guided by some of the same voices as Robert Pollard and company, but the Beatnik Filmstars have translated the instructions into a sound of their own. Mixing wonderfully damaged keyboards with wonderfully damaged guitars and vocals, the end result is In Hospitalable, a rough hewn collection of pop gems that, despite all the damage, can't hide the luster of wonderful songwriting.
